It is so pleasing to see the care and protection the Iluka Home Owners give to our surrounding natural ecosystem. Several times we have met residents picking up discarded items and placing these in the bins provided.
It is also a great pleasure to meet groups of happy, smiling, high school and primary school students volunteering to work with the Friends of North Ocean Reef - Iluka Foreshore (FONORIF) in watering, weeding and the cleaning up of litter left behind by absent minded visitors.
The largest group of volunteers working with Drs Marjory Apthorpe and Don Poynton came from the Strathalbyn Christian College in GERALDTON. It seems that our young people from near and far away are keen to keep our natural bush in pristine condition for the enjoyment of all.
A very big "thank you" to the students and staff from Strathalbyn. Your work is very much appreciated. Many thanks to Marjory and Don for organising the volunteers.
